Job Description
Role ProfileThe role is to provide application support for the respective production, pre-production and test by investigating issues, developing fixes, supporting new releases, performing general maintenance and administration. New functionality through improvements and performance tuning is also required.Would be required to work on shift-based operation (morning, day and night shifts), out of hours support and on-call support during weekdays and weekends.Build strong business knowledge and interpersonal skills are required for working with the business and other application support teams during investigations. Partner with development teams to improve system reliability, observability, and release velocity!Need to be technical SME in the underlying technologies used by the applications and provide detailed technical support for developers producing bug fixes & new releases of this application with the exposure to hands on Cloud services!Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritize, work under stress to meet tight SLAs defined for the services and processes.Need to cross train with multiple application services and improve confidence to work on different applications whenever required.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport of the LSEG Post Trade / London Clearing House (LCH) applications related to Market Data Services (MDS) under Shared Technical Services.Resolve Incidents and ProblemsUse ServiceNow for Incidents, Problems and ChangesAnalyse problems and decide on suitable resolutionsApply resolutions following the Change procedureReport status to relevant business and IT teamsRecord progress of incident resolution in ServiceNowFollow detailed incident management procedures and raise to the senior management teamBug fixes and improvements to internal productsDesign solutions for application bugs and small functionality improvement requestsAutomation of manual tasks and process improvementsEnhance the observability of application using monitoring toolsImplement application fixesUpdate GitHub/GitLab with source code changesUpdate relevant Confluence/documentation with changesCo-ordinate the release process for new releasesWork to the ITIL standard following LCH/LSEG policies & proceduresMaintain working relationship with business teams, business management and project teamAssist in project related work & carry out requirements as defined by project teamPERSON SPECIFICATIONEducation:Degree or equivalent experience educated, preferably in a technical fieldRequired skills and experience:Strong UNIX/Linux System Administration skillsScripting skills (bash/shell scripting, Python, PowerShell)Hands on experience with AWS cloud infrastructureStrong Oracle Database/SQL query writing skillsHands on experience with AWS Cloud ServicesExperience with IBM MQKnowledge of Network Diagnostics & Web ServersHands-on in version control repository (Git)Understanding of product development lifecycle and methodologies Qualified with the ITIL v4 Foundation course levelPreferred qualifications:Exposure to Jenkins, CI/CD, Ansible, TerraformExperience in Control-M or similar orchestration tool.Experience in Financial or an investment banking environment familiarity with financial products and financial terms or LCH Post Trade Applications in a production support roleExcellent analytical skills, attention to details and problem-solving abilitiesExperience of working in an IT support teamProven technical background in the core technologies with several years of experienceJoin us and be part of a team that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
