Senior Engineer-Mechanical

The Engineering Department of Damang Gold Mine is seeking to employ an experienced and results-driven individual to coordinate Light Vehicle and Support Equipment Maintenance activities. The incumbent will ensure the effective management of Light Vehicle, HME Support equipment and Dewatering Pumps are under controlled operational cost and safe conditions. He/She will also be responsible for high equipment availability and performance, increased productivity, equipment reliability and operational profitability.About role:Ensuring that light vehicle, Dewatering Pumps and other ancillary equipment are maintained and positioned in line with operational requirements and objectivesCoordinating, managing and directing the activities of the maintenance support service teamEnsuring the achievement of high equipment availability and reliability within industry standardsImplementing effective cost management and financial performance monitoring systemsEnsuring that effective maintenance standards and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems Maintaining a safe and friendly environmentEnsuring that staff are effectively trained, developed, and supervisedAbout you:A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institutionA minimum of five (5) years’ experience in LV and Support Equipment MaintenanceLeadership in managing light vehicles, cranes, dewatering pumps and other ancillary equipment maintenance functionExperienced in safe lifting practices Must hold a minimum of Section Engineer’s certificate of competency from MINCOMWell-developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levelsStrong analytical, interpersonal and organisational skillsHave a hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain the required resultsAbility to meet diverse engineering challengesProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteMedical fitness for the position and environmentA valid Ghanaian driver’s license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
