Job Description

Job Title: Executive/ Sr ExecutiveDepartment: Environment / EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)Location: MeghalayaReports to: Plant HeadJob PurposeTo ensure effective implementation of environmental management systems and statutory compliance related to air, water, waste, and noise pollution control in the cement plant, mines, and associated facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Compliance & MonitoringEnsure compliance with all environmental laws, rules, and regulations (e.g., CPCB, SPCB, MoEFCC norms).Conduct regular environmental monitoring (ambient air, stack emission, water quality, noise, and waste).Maintain and update consent to operate (CTO) and consent to establish (CTE) from Pollution Control Boards.Coordinate with regulatory authorities during audits, inspections, and reporting.Pollution Control SystemsMonitor and maintain performance of pollution control equipment such as ESPs, Bag Filters, and Water Treatment Plants.Supervise the operation and maintenance of continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS/CAAQMS).Assist in upgrading pollution control facilities to meet new environmental norms.Waste ManagementManage solid, hazardous, and co-processing waste as per environmental guidelines.Maintain inventory, manifests, and records for hazardous waste.Coordinate with authorized recyclers and disposal facilities.Environmental Management System (EMS)Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001:2015 certification.Conduct environmental audits, impact assessments, and prepare environmental management plans (EMP).Prepare and maintain all EMS documentation and records.Reporting & DocumentationPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental reports (e.g., Form V, Water Cess, returns to SPCB).Maintain data for sustainability reporting (GHG emissions, resource consumption, etc.).Prepare presentations and reports for management review.Training & AwarenessConduct environmental awareness programs for plant and mining personnel.Promote best practices in energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation.QualificationsEducation: B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc./B.Sc in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.Experience: 2–5 years in environment management, preferably in cement or heavy industries.Skills & CompetenciesKnowledge of environmental regulations and reporting systems (SPCB/CPCB norms).Hands-on experience with environmental monitoring and laboratory testing.Understanding of EMS/ISO 14001 implementation.Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office and environmental data software.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Zero non-compliance with environmental norms.Timely renewal of statutory consents.Reduction in emissions, waste, and resource usage.Successful audits and maintenance of ISO certifications.
