Position DescriptionA Senior Manager opportunity has arisen in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team within Enterprise Services supporting ESB Networks. The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function plays a pivotal role in enabling strategic, operational, and financial excellence across the business.Future Senior Manager vacancies within Finance across ESB may be filled as part of this process.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral:Senior managers are part of the senior leadership group and play a key role in the management of their respective business units, providing leadership, direction and input to strategy both within Business Unit and across the wider organisation.Senior Managers are responsible for the delivery of business targets through the effective management of people and processes in a safe, inclusive and cost-effective manner.They are also accountable for and are expected to deliver strong financial or other business outcomes through individual and team performance against stretch targets.Leading and delivering organisational change is also a key responsibility.Role Specific:Lead and manage a team of FP&A analysts and senior analysts.Deliver BU month end reporting and analysis.Manage Budget/IBP & Forecast processes with the BU and agree key assumptions with business managers.Review and challenge Budget/IBP & Forecasts outputs and resolve any issues.Communicate financial forecasts and analysis of performance to Head of FP&A, BP’s, FC and ExCo.Drive operational excellence by automating and streamlining processes.Sponsor FP&A wide initiatives and/or represent FP&A on companywide working groups. Manage ad hoc queries and business decision support requests across the team. Manage relationships with key BU stakeholders.Key Personal RequirementsThe successful candidates will demonstrate the capacity to operate at Senior Management Team level, and will be an effective team player possessing drive, agility and resilience.They will demonstrate inclusive leadership skills, with an open mindset and a desire to understand how others view and experience the world.Those appointed will be learning oriented and will have the required interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and the personal credibility to deliver the highest standards of people performance across ESB Group.Essential Experience And QualificationsProven leadership, relationship management and influencing skillsAbility to work collaboratively as part of the Senior Management TeamEffective team player with a proven ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders in the delivery of key objectivesExperience of working with a wide range of senior business stakeholders and partner companiesProven delivery of tangible, commercial business resultsAbility to work in a dynamic and changing business environmentExcellent communication, interpersonal, people and customer skillsEssential QualificationsQualified Accountant with at least 10 years post qualification experience or equivalent.LocationThis position will be based in Fitzwilliam 27 Head Office.ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two days per week.
