Senior Finance Manager – Process Optimization, Consolidation and Team Leadership (Real Estate)

We are supporting a European real estate group in the search for a Senior Finance Manager to lead the structuring and professionalization of its finance function. This position plays a central role in strengthening financial processes, improving reporting quality, and supporting the organisation’s next stage of maturity.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild on the foundations already set and accelerate the standardisation of financial processes across the organisation.Strengthen and formalise workflows around month-end closing, reporting, consolidation and cash forecasting.Review and enhance existing consolidation practices (currently executed in Excel), and support the evaluation or implementation of more robust consolidation tools.Further develop internal controls, especially in the purchase-to-pay cycle, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance.Support, mentor and organise a finance team with varying levels of seniority, creating clarity around roles, responsibilities and expectations.Provide hands-on support when necessary to secure monthly and quarterly deadlines and ensure data quality.Reinforce communication and collaboration across departments to ensure smoother information flow and more aligned decision-making.Profile Requirements8+ years of experience in finance, audit, controlling or financial management, ideally in real estate or investment-driven environments.Demonstrated experience in finance transformation, process optimisation and team structuring.Solid understanding of consolidation principles and experience improving financial models or preparing for tool migration.Strong analytical skills and the ability to challenge, refine and formalise financial processes.Leadership with a collaborative, structured and people-oriented approach.Comfortable stepping into an environment where some improvements are in place, yet significant work remains to bring the finance function to a fully mature, stable and efficient operating model.Dutch mandatoryReal estate experience mandatoryThis position is suited for a finance professional who enjoys building, structuring and elevating financial organisations — not starting from scratch, but consolidating and expanding on work already initiated.For a confidential discussion, please feel free to reach out directly.
