Location: Toronto, Hybrid, 2 days on-site one week and 3 days the nextLanguage: Strong written and verbal English communication requiredBackground Check Requirement: Criminal and employment verification requiredAbout the OpportunityOur client, a well-established organization in the insurance sector, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Reinsurance Reporting team. This is a high-impact role focused on analyzing reinsurance contracts, preparing monthly and quarterly reporting, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information across assumed and ceded portfolios.You will join a close-knit team of four, working alongside a Manager, Analyst, and Director of Finance. The team offers mentorship, exposure to complex reinsurance reporting under IFRS 17, and opportunities to deepen your technical expertise.Enjoy a flexible hybrid model that allows you to choose your on-site days, competitive compensation bonus potential, an employee share purchase plan with company match, pension and RRSP options, insurance discounts, and wellness-focused benefits from day one.Your ResponsibilitiesYou’ll analyze assumed and ceded reinsurance contracts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with IFRS 17.In this role, you’ll prepare and review monthly and quarterly reinsurance accounting reports.You’ll perform variance analysts and investigate billing and collection discrepancies, recommending action plans and process improvements.You’ll collaborate with finance and operations partners to ensure systems and reporting reflect accurate contract data.You’ll apply strong internal control and regulatory standards to support audit readiness and risk management.Skills and Qualifications3 to 5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting within insurance or banking.Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration, CPA designation considered an asset.Strong knowledge of insurance industry practices and reinsurance accounting principles.Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate results under deadlines.Polished, detail-oriented professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.Note from the Hiring Manager“We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working in the numbers, who is curious about contracts and comfortable digging into discrepancies until they find the answer.”Why Partner with AltisIf you’ve never worked with a staffing agency before, we make it easy.
