The role includes monthly preparation and analysis of management accounting information; monthly preparation and analysis of the company VAT return; ensure accuracy and compliance with the Group’s statutory obligations; preparation and assisting with year-end external audits and provision of high-quality service support to Directors and Managers within the Group.Job responsibilities include:Production of monthly management reports and Board pack assistance, with detailed and commercial analysis and comments on variances of actual to targets.Annual consolidation of the financial statements in accordance with IFRSs.Accurate preparation of the monthly UAE Group VAT return for on-time lodgement with the FTA and quarterly VAT returns in Oman.File all tax & fiscal requirements within statutory deadlines, including providing supporting analysis and documentation to tax advisors for annual returns and other compliance.Regular review and reconciliation of the GL entries to ensure VAT is recorded properly within the accounts for reporting on relevant returns.Assist in planning and budget process.Preparation of all month end postings, including inventory closing, depreciation, prepayments, payroll, accruals/provisions, cost allocation journals, FX revaluation and any month end adjustments.Timely, accurate completion of the monthly financial close process for assigned subsidiary entities.Produce annual financial accounts under IFRS with fully supported audit files for year-end external audit purposes.Work closely and confidently with external auditors for year-end audit.Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.Assisting other members of the finance team with their queries and issues where necessary.Communicate suggestions for increased efficiency within the department and/or Group.Developing financial projections and building financial models.Performing research and analysis as required.Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.Undertake additional duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the team and organization.About YouThe ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with at least 5 years of relevant experience and a minimum of 3 years of international experience. You will have a strong background in audit, ideally from the big 4. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus. They should be knowledgeable about IFRS and UAE/GCC VAT and Corporation Tax, and capable of assisting management with research to ensure statutory compliance. You should have intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including daily use of functions like Sumifs and VLOOKUP, along with intermediate PowerPoint skills.They must possess strong analytical abilities to assess the commercial implications of data, demonstrate attention to detail, and maintain organization for efficient processes.
