Position: Senior Global Strategic ManagerLocation: Allschwil (Basel-Land)Client: PharmaType: 24 months contract - 1 FTEPlanet Pharma are partnered with a Global Leading Pharmaceutical company, who are currently hiring for a Senior Global Strategic Manager to join their team on a 24 months contract in Switzerland.Main ResponsibilitiesProvide expert sourcing support and guidance to clinical study teams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external service providers (ESPs) to forecast, manage, and deliver clinical project needs.Review and negotiate service scopes and budgets for contracted activities, acting independently when required.Identify and mitigate risks related to third-party performance, ensuring quality and timelines are maintained.Monitor and promote cost efficiency across all sourcing activities.Prepare and update cost forecasts and budget projections for Phase I–IV clinical studies.Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal/financial regulations.Contribute to decisions on outsourced service management using operational and strategic insight.Lead assigned Global Strategic Sourcing Managers (GSSMs) and deputize for the Global Strategic Sourcing Lead (GSSL) when needed.Chair or oversee assigned governance committees for external partnerships.Main RequirementsBachelor’s degree (or higher) in life sciences, business administration, or related field.7+ years’ experience in strategic clinical sourcing and managing external service providers within pharma, CROs, or equivalent.Proven leadership as the main sourcing lead in at least four late-phase clinical trials.Strong background in third-party selection, contract negotiation, and management of MSAs and project-level agreements.In-depth understanding of clinical development processes, cost models, provider selection, and study operations.Skilled in working across global, multicultural environments and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; awareness of cultural differences.Willingness to travel internationally as required.ABOUT PLANET PHARMAPlanet Pharma is an American parented Employment Business/Agency that provides global staffing services with its head-quarters in Chicago and our EMEA regional office located in Central London.
