We are committed to driving financial inclusion and operational excellence across Uganda through technology and partnerships.As our team expands, we are seeking an Agile, grounded, and adaptable Senior Human Resource Officer to lead HR operations and serve as a strategic business partner to the management team.Position SummaryThe Senior HR Officer will oversee all HR operations, ensuring people strategies align with ChapChap’s business objectives. This role combines hands-on HR management with a strategic business partnering focus, supporting leaders and teams to drive performance, engagement, and organizational growth.The ideal candidate is agile and people-centered, with the ability to balance strategic foresight and day-to-day HR execution in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Key Responsibilities·      Serve as a strategic HR partner to management and department heads, providing insights and solutions that support business goals.·      Align the people strategy with organizational objectives to strengthen performance, culture, and retention.·      Advise leadership on workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.·      Ensure effective implementation of HR policies, systems, and procedures in compliance with Ugandan labor laws and internal governance standards.·      Lead end-to-end recruitment and oversee onboarding programs that drive engagement and productivity from day one.·      Manage performance management processes, supporting managers to foster accountability and continuous improvement.·      Identify training needs and implement learning and development initiatives that build leadership and technical capacity.·      Support career growth and succession planning across the organization.·      Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that reflects ChapChap’s core values.·      Provide professional guidance on employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes.·      Design and execute employee engagement and well-being initiatives to enhance motivation and retention.·      Oversee payroll, compensation, and statutory compliance (NSSF, PAYE, LST, etc.) with accuracy and timeliness.·      Conduct salary reviews and benefits benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness.·      Utilize HR data and analytics to guide leadership decisions and improve workforce effectiveness.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field.Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or advisory/business partnering role.Strong knowledge of Ugandan labour laws and HR best practices.Demonstrated experience in strategic HR support to management.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.Proven ability to operate with maturity, adaptability, and sound judgment.HR certification (CIPD, HRMAU, or equivalent) is an added advantage.Core CompetenciesStrategic business partnering mindsetRelationship building and stakeholder managementStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilityAgility and adaptability in a fast-paced environmentEmotional intelligence and professionalismHigh ethical standards and confidentiality
