Find out more about working with us .Your OpportunityAs the Senior Human Resource Consultant, Injury Management you will:Provide leadership in the area of injury management, including effective and timely advice and consultancy services to effect improvements in health, safety and wellbeing performance and support state-wide implementation of departmental injury management procedures.Coordinate high level injury management programs of work, including staff ill health retirements, notices of further consideration and WorkCover common law conferences.The Senior Injury Management Consultant reports to the Principal Injury Management Consultant, HSW Injury Management and Wellbeing.Your RoleAppointments in the public sector are merit-based and will be assessed by looking at what you have done previously—the knowledge, skills and experience you have built, your potential for development, and your personal qualities.Responsibilities IncludeProvide leadership, guidance and consultancy on injury management to effect improvements in health, safety and wellbeing performance. This includes supporting state-wide implementation of departmental procedures and processes for:WorkCover claims managementQSuper claims managementWorkplace RehabilitationReasonable AdjustmentsMedical RedeploymentIll Health RetirementNotices of Further ConsiderationRe-employments.Coordinate programs in collaboration with the departmental officers holding specific delegations to direct staff to medical examinations and determine the retirement of staff based on ill health criteria.Coordinate the program for applying, reviewing and modifying notices of further consideration, to ensure that workplace health and safety risks associated with ill or injured staff are appropriately managed.Coordinate departmental involvement in WorkCover common law compulsory conferences and gather learnings to assist with minimising future injury and negligence.Identify and implement injury management strategies to improve health, safety and wellbeing performance.Monitor injury management data to identify trends and issues to be addressed to improve health, safety and wellbeing performance.Contribute to the training and professional development of managers, regional staff and Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinators.Collaborate with regional stakeholders to improve consistency of injury management practice across the department and in accordance with procedures and legislation.Undertake selected case management of employees with complex injury or illness, in accordance with departmental priorities and procedures.Contribute to the development, documentation and implementation of injury management policies, procedures and strategies.Other Responsibilities (as Required)Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
