Senior Innovation Consultant

Are you ready to lead impactful innovation in Europe’s energy and environmental transition? PNO Innovation is seeking a Senior Innovation Consultant to strengthen our Brussels team. You'll play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge EU funding proposals, guiding strategic innovation projects, and expanding our network of partners across Europe’s energy and environmental sectors.Your MissionAs Senior Innovation Consultant, you will take ownership of the full lifecycle of EU project proposals—from ideation, consortium building, and writing to submission and project follow-up. You will ensure excellence in proposal writing, while also supporting the broader consulting services of PNO, such as project execution, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesDriving EU ProposalsTake the lead in writing competitive EU proposals (Horizon Europe and related programmes), ensuring clarity, impact, and compliance with funding requirements.Coordinate the end-to-end proposal process: ideation, partner engagement, work package design, budgeting, and submission.Provide guidance to clients and partners on how to shape innovative ideas into fundable projects.Mentor and support junior consultants involved in proposals.Consulting & Stakeholder EngagementIdentify and secure new opportunities with corporate, SME, and research partners.Lead and facilitate workshops, business model development sessions, and exploitation strategy meetings.Manage client relationships and provide senior-level advisory services.Represent PNO at industry-specific events, building and expanding your professional network.Your ProfileExpertise & BackgroundMaster’s degree or PhD in a technical field (chemistry, engineering, materials science, renewable energy, or related).At least 5 years of experience in EU proposal development, with a proven track record of successful Horizon Europe submissions.Strong business analysis capabilities (e.g. LCA, LCC, techno-economic assessments).Proactive, detail-oriented, and organized; able to manage multiple proposals under tight deadlines.Skills & AttributesExcellent writing and communication skills in English (essential).Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.Natural ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and consortium partners.A team player with leadership potential and coaching abilities.Why Join UsImpactful Work & GrowthBe at the core of shaping Europe’s innovation projects in energy and environment.Work on high-profile EU-funded proposals with leading corporates, SMEs, and research institutions.Grow your career through continuous learning and international exposure.Culture & CollaborationHybrid working model with 2–3 days per week in the Brussels office.A collaborative, supportive, and international team culture.Access to an extensive European network of experts and stakeholders.Contribute to projects that directly impact Europe’s sustainability and energy transition goals.About UsPNO Innovation is the leading innovation and funding consultancy in Europe.
