In this critical role, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable integration solutions that enhance the functionality and performance of our systems. Ensuring that solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.Design, implement, and maintain microservices-based integrations. Advocate for best practices in microservices, including containerization and orchestration.Mentor and guide a team of integration engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.Partner with product managers, developers, and business analysts to gather and validate integration requirements and drive successful implementation.Develop and optimize RESTful API services to integrate various systems and applications. Leverage modern frameworks and libraries to enhance functionality.Diagnose and resolve complex integration challenges. Implement proactive measures to ensure system reliability and performance.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, technical designs, and configuration settings to facilitate knowledge sharing.Stay updated with industry trends, particularly in Java development and microservices.Promote continuous improvement through innovation and adoption of emerging technologies including AI (withing Chubb governed policies and controls).What Makes This Role DifferentNot Your Typical Engineering Job:We focus on outcomes, not just outputs - you’ll have real ownership of your work.Our sprint cycles are truly 1-week, enabling rapid progress and quick feedback.We embrace AI tools as essential to our workflow and support you in using them effectively.Success is measured by delivering working software that makes a difference, not just by story points.Qualifications:8+ Years of experience in a similar role.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.Practical experience using GenAI (Claude/CoPilot/Gemini) with a good understanding of subagents, MCP and controls; used to support the design, development, testing.Extensive experience in Java development, particularly with microservices architecture.Proficiency with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, or similar.Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with message brokers and middleware (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).Excellent leadership and team management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Growth Opportunities:Work with cutting-edge AI coding tools before they're mainstream.Build expertise in AI-augmented software engineering.Influence engineering practices and tooling decisions.Learn from polyglot engineers across the stack.Our team makes the difference, every time.
