Senior Internal Controls Manager

In this role, you are responsible for leading the execution of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance activities for the Jenbacher site, based at the INNIO Headquarters in Jenbach, Austria.Jenbach is the largest site and lead factory of the INNIO group, producing gas engines and spare parts. You will coordinate SOX activities and support the Jenbacher Operations and Finance teams, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with global and local requirements.What We OfferA dynamic, international environmentOpportunities for professional growth and developmentThe chance to make a real impact in a fast-moving industryMoving cost support for new employees in accordance with policyGood connections to public transport – station in direct proximityINNIO e-Motion program – e-cars for private use with various rent periodsAttractive location in the heart of the Alps with various outdoor sport and leisure possibilitiesYour ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate SOX compliance activities for the Jenbacher site, ensuring alignment with global SOX strategyGuide and support control owners on control design, documentation, and effective operation, ensuring audit-ready evidencePlan and execute SOX walkthroughs, update process maps, confirm key controls and sample sizesTest design and operating effectiveness of controls, document results, and track remediation of deficienciesCoordinate with IT SOX on IT-dependent controls, key report validations, IPE testing, and validation of User Access Reviews (UARs), Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) processes, privileged access, and break-glass usageLiaise with external and internal auditors during walkthroughs and testingSupport quarterly SOX 302 certifications and disclosure controls from the siteEnsure GDPR-compliant handling of personal data evidence and coordinate works council engagement as required under Austrian lawConduct regular check-ins and training on SOX methodologies for junior team membersSupervise and mentor the Jenbacher SOX Analyst, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverablesYour ProfileBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA) is a plus5–7 years’ experience in ICFR or external/internal audit, with experience guiding control owners, SOX experience is a plusExpert knowledge of COSO, SEC SOX 302/404, PCAOB expectations; ERP/IAM familiarityExperience in EU regulatory environments; knowledge of Austrian labor/works council basics and GDPR principlesFluent in English; German proficiency is an advantageStrong stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionallyFlexible, proactive learner with a clear, problem-solving mindset who consistently meets deadlinesA valid work permit for Austria is a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)At INNIO, we offer a competitive salary package which is far above the requirements of the metal collective agreement in Austria.
