The work is challenging but rewarding - and that is why staff wellbeing and work/life balance are a top priority for us.About The RoleIn this pivotal role within the Civil Justice Services team, you will represent clients in administrative law matters, including NDIS and Social Security appeals, by preparing cases, providing advocacy, instructing counsel, and personally appearing in courts, tribunals, mediations, and hearings. You will offer comprehensive legal advice, task assistance, and draft legal documents such as applications, complaints, and submissions. As a senior lawyer, you will mentor, supervise, and develop the skills of staff within Legal Aid Queensland and external practitioners. Beyond casework, you will contribute to systemic change by identifying opportunities for test cases, providing expert submissions to influence law reform, and enhancing LAQ's legal service delivery on a state and national level.
