Senior Lecturer – Quantity Surveying/Construction Management

SALARY RANGE: RM9,000-RM13,000Responsibilities:This position will make a significant contribution to the discipline which can normally be demonstrated at the national level. In research and/or scholarship he or she will make original contributions, which expand knowledge or practice in his or her discipline. He or she will demonstrate leadership, expertise and coordination of academic courses.This position will normally make a significant contribution to:• teaching, scholarship and administration activities of an organizational unit or an interdisciplinary area at undergraduate, honors and postgraduate level;• leadership and engagement in scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession, discipline and/or community; and• demonstrate original contributions to advancing knowledge in research or scholarship at least at a national level.Qualifications and Criteria:PhD in Quantity Surveying; Construction Management; Civil Engineering; or related disciplines.A Professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) or Consultant Quantity Surveying (CQS) candidate will be an added advantage.Proven track record of substantial research output and significant impact.Proven expertise and significant professional experience in Quantity Surveying.Proficiency in using industry-relevant software and technology will be an added advantage.Experience in teaching or training in higher education in a relevant discipline.Active involvement in professional organizations or societies related to Quantity Surveying is desirable.Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.Prior teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate levelScholarly publications in journals, proceedings, and booksExperience in curriculum development and administration.Experience of supervising postgraduate (including doctoral) students.Experience in providing consulting and training services.Participation in collaborative research projects with other academics.National/international reputation in a relevant scholarly domain.National/international recognition in a relevant professional domain.Record of innovations, copyrights, patents, and academic entrepreneurshipExperience of strategic planning and leadership in academic contextsExperience in motivating and mentoring academic colleaguesAbility to identify research opportunity and attract external support.Ability to foster collaborative relationships with other universities, government agencies, professional bodies, and private organizations.Managerial work experience, leading to a deep and creative understanding of some practical domain.Familiarity with digital learning technologies
