As a Senior Actuarial Life Modeling Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our Group Life Model Risk Management team—delivering results that matter.In this role, you won’t just validate life cash flow models—you’ll also help enhance our in-house life model validation software. Built in Python and engineered for speed and scalability, our platform leverages cutting-edge technologies such as Numba, Dask, NumPy, and Pandas to deliver efficient, transparent, and repeatable validation at scale.Your roleAs a Senior Life Actuarial Modeling Specialist, your main responsibilities will involve: Perform life model validations for key products and portfolios across global markets. Contribute to software development efforts to expand and improve in-house validation tooling, including new features, testing frameworks, and automation.Design, execute, and maintain validation tests, benchmarks, and reproducible workflows that scale with business needs.Collaborate with Risk and Group Actuarial to ensure robust governance, documentation, and transparent communication of findings.Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and senior management.Promote best practices in model risk management, validation standards, and code quality (including testing, version control, and CI/CD).Mentor junior actuaries and foster knowledge sharing within the team and broader organization.Your Skills And ExperienceAs a Senior Life Actuarial Modeling Specialist your skills and experience will ideally include:Advanced degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related fieldExperience in a life insurance company (reserving, pricing, capital management, etc.)Prior involvement in model development, validation or audit7+ years of experience with life insurance actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, RAFM/MoSes, AXIS, or similar)Strong understanding of model development and model risk management principles and best practicesProficient in programming languages used in actuarial modeling (Python preferred, VBA, R)Familiarity with IFRS17, SST and/or Solvency II frameworksExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsResults-oriented and reliableCollaborative team player with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to explain complex technical concepts in simple termsEager to learn and grow, with a positive attitude toward changeStrong communication skills in EnglishWe offerIn accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, the minimum gross monthly compensation for this position, determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, is 3700 EUR/gross The final compensation package will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.On top of a competitive annual bonus, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:Working Time BenefitsPersonal days off, Concentrated work week, Additional vacation, Home office, Extra days off at occasion of childbirth, Sabbatical leaveMonetary BenefitsLife insurance from Zurich Austria, Compensation for salary loss during sick leave, 3rd pension pillar contribution, Risk Life Insurance, Meal contribution on top of the legally required minimum, Years of service bonus, Wedding bonus, Baby bonusOther BenefitsEdenred electronic cafeteria, Public Transport contribution, Maternity leave benefits, Massages in the officeLearning/DevelopmentProfessional Certifications, Online Education Portals, Extensive Onboarding program, Strengths based culture (GALLUP)Location(s): Bratislava officeHybrid work: We would be happy to meet you in the office 3 times a week with the added flexibility of working from home on a weekly basis.Schedule: Full-time About UsAt our company, we recognize the importance of fostering an open-minded, safe and inclusive environment for everyone.
