Job DescriptionAs required by our governmental client, this position requires an active secretclearance to be considered. A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify. Serve as the Senior Logistics Advisor to the Deputy Director of Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center (BDSC) on behalf of the Logistics Management Center (LMC). Provide technical advice to U.S. Department of State (DOS) staff and other agencies on all matters regarding Baghdad International Airport (BIAP), and on multi-modal movement operations and processes required to obtain movement approvals throughout Iraq. Liaise with Government of Iraq (GOI) offices and advise DOS on assigned logistics projects.Compensation & BenefitsEstimated Starting Salary Range for SENIOR LOGISTICS ADVISOR (BDSC):Pay commensurate with experience.Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.SENIOR LOGISTICS ADVISOR (BDSC) Responsibilities IncludeMonitors and analyzes the performance of any Intra-Iraq movement operationsLiaises with GOI officials/agencies, for example the Prime Minister’s National Operations Center (PMNOC), BIAP Aviation Officials, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Iraq Customs Directorate at BIAP, and Iraqi Air Force officials at New Al Muthanna Air Base (NAMAB)Establishes and maintains relationships that strengthen the Chief of Mission’s (COM) ability to obtain movement approvals and clearances and removes/resolves obstacles to transportation effortsMonitors movement clearances to the GOI for transportation missions’ country wideCoordinates with Iraqi Customs for urgent shipments that arrive in country and have no Diplomatic Note. Prepare Promissory Notes as necessaryAdvises BDSC Management on current and changing conditions within GOI offices that relate to the logistics mission.Counsels staff on the resolution of non-routine problems regarding airport clearances and movement clearances and advises of problem areas that cannot be resolved at the action officer levelDevelops reports that brief Management daily on critical airport operations or movements that require close monitoring Supports Management in understanding, informing, and coordinating on special projectsConsults with DOS personnel at U.S. Embassy Baghdad to evaluate expectations regarding movement clearance processes and procedures that relate to visits to BIAPAssists in the preparation of reports to Management on movement issues and resolutions Monitors contractually assigned tasks for any transportation operations relating to DOSAdvises on the implementation of any process or procedure directly related to submittals to the GOI for movement control and approvalsPerforms other job-related duties as assignedSENIOR LOGISTICS ADVISOR (BDSC) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities RequestedKnowledge of DOS and other government agencies’ transportation policies and programs.
