Job Title: Senior Mainframe AssociateType of Hiring: Full-Time EmploymentWorking Model: Hybrid (2 Days Work from Office)Location: Ballerup, Copenhagen (CPH), DenmarkJob Description:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mainframe Associate with deep expertise in legacy systems, particularly across IMS, DB2, CICS, PL/I, COBOL, JCL, and MQ. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in both real-time and batch processing environments and a proven ability to maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot complex mainframe applications in the banking or financial services domain.Key Responsibilities:1. IMS to DB2 Bridge & Data PropagationDesign, develop, and maintain the IMS to DB2 bridge for asynchronous data propagation.Analyze IMS logs to identify changes and translate them into executable SQL commands for DB2.Ensure data integrity and synchronization across IMS and DB2 systems.2. IMS Real-Time Logic & Data ModelingMaintain and optimize IMS data models in real-time environments.Implement load balancing strategies for IMS transactions across physical tables.Collaborate with DBAs to assess storage requirements and monitor data usage.3. Application Enhancement & OptimizationModify and enhance COBOL applications using IMS APIs to support performance and logical data distribution.Develop and optimize complex PL/I programs for data transformation and synchronization.Utilize MQ messaging for real-time transaction processing and system integration.4. System Troubleshooting & Performance TuningDiagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks across IMS, DB2, and batch processing components.Conduct in-depth analysis of system logs and application behavior to ensure high system availability.Required Skills & Competencies:Technical Skills (Mandatory):COBOL (Enterprise Mainframe COBOL)JCLIMS (including IMS DB and IMS APIs)DB2 (Mainframe)PL/I ProgrammingMQ (Message Queue)CICSVSAMz/OSMainframe AdministrationAdvanced Knowledge:IMS DBA-level expertise:Storage sizing and capacity planning for IMS tablesPerformance tuning and table optimizationExperience with IMS logs analysis for insert operations and change data captureStrong experience in real-time transaction systems (preferably in cards & payments)Preferred Experience:Experience in the Cards & Payments domain is highly desirable.Previous work in a banking or financial institution will be a plus.
