This is a high impact role where your financial expertise will directly influence tactical decisions and strategic outcomes.Role Responsibilities:Financial LeadershipLead the monthly revenue accrual and WIP process, ensuring integrity of project margins, P&L and financial dataReview and post adjustment journals for revenue and cost to maintain accuracy and completenessDeliver comprehensive monthly reporting packs, with balance sheet and capital expenditure reconciliations and insightful analysisManage the AR ledger and drive proactive cash collection strategiesReview and resolve aged purchase orders, ensuring financial housekeeping is on pointReview and maintain inventory levels understanding aged levels per branchManage one direct report of Management Accountant Forecasting, Budgeting & Modelling Collaborate with Delivery and Ops Managers on quarterly forecasts, updating financial models and reporting packsSupport the Commercial Manager with the annual budget process, from P&L to balance sheet and ROCE modelsUpdate cash flow forecasts to support business decision makingReview annual price escalations and update cost/sell rates in JDE accordinglyCommercial Partnering & LeadershipBe the go to finance partner for Delivery and Operations teams, providing visibility into performance and outcomesRole model Northpower's values in all interactions and act as a trusted advisor to stakeholdersSupport the Commercial Manager with audit preparation, reporting, and ad hoc projectsStrengthen our brand through professionalism, clarity, and commercial insightContinuous Improvement:Champion finance driven improvements in cost management, invoicing, WIP, inventory, and debtor processesContribute to the implementation of audit findings and system enhancementsSeek out and act on opportunities for professional and business developmentExperience:Proven experience in management accounting, ideally in a project or service-based industryStrong knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, and financial modellingConfidence working with ERP systems JDE experience highly regardedFinance/CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent)Knowledge of Power Query and PowerBi an advantageA continuous improvement mindset and a drive to add valueExcellent communication skills and a passion for partnering with operations About us: Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangārei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers.
