Job Description

The Senior Manager, Factory Operations reports to the Deputy Chief Operations Officer and is responsible for direction, strategy, planning, and delivery of the company’s product lines and deliverance. He / She shall assist and support the business unit owner and cross-functional units on manufacturing plans, goals, engineering and product innovations.The role shall oversee, manage, plan, delegate, and ensure productivity and actualize production plans are maintained at optimum level. Managing Leaders/Line Managers/HODs in respective teams such as tobacco production, packaging, quality from start of production to schedule delivery/acceptance globally etc. Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for all aspects of technical performance, quality performance, manufacture operations budget and schedule performance.Ensure that, as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness.Action-oriented and innovative in leading the Manufacturing operations and engineering function.Capable of driving change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results.Skilled in manufacturing processes and Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process improvements.Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems, while applying advanced analytical thought and judgement.Develop plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions to ensure and sustain leading edge capabilities as well as develop annual capital expenditure and expense budget.Evaluate the assignment of resources to meet the needs of the Production Facilities.Oversee manufacturing activities to ensure that the total effort is directed toward optimizing the quality and cost effectiveness to meet company goals and objectives.Keep abreast of industry technical changes and make recommendations for training of supervisor personnel. Utilize budgeted resources, including, but not limited to, manpower, equipment, and facilities for the purpose of reducing costs and improving efficiency.Ensure the plant is managed effectively in production scheduling, capacity planning, factory technical services, production operations including semi- finished goods and finish goods manufacturingProvide leadership to the factory teams; ensure right level of expertise and proper succession planning process aimed at smooth delivery of all department deliverance including managing and reporting of revenue and manufacturing budget besides design and management of all agreements.Lead the manufacturing team to deliver all key performance indices as per the set targets (Productivity, OTIF, wastages with a special focus on cost effectiveness)Manage direct/indirect cross functional/inter-company relationships improving and sustain the performance of manufacturing section in terms of productivity, quality, cost effective and deliverance.Drive continuous process improvement through the ability to recognize unnecessary complexities and process gaps, and proactively drive implementation of strategies to execute effective solutionsCommunicate with business units in identify objectives, requirements and formulate optionsConduct routine checks on production to gauge, review, evaluate, propose, and execute effective and productive alternatives/solutions/scientific in-sights on improvement of productivity and processes etc.Advise timelines for all projects by proper documenting and maintaining records on progression stages, phases of projects and their timeline to completion and delivering of finished productsProvide day to day operations advice to operations to achieve key business objectives involving quality, productivity, order fulfillment etc. And develop contingency plan for improvementResponsible for delivery performance, response time, handle capacity planning in production factory with additional various/special projects and business as usualAchieve above 90% productivity vs accuracy of plan versus actuals in monthly basis at production factoryStrategy Plan (at least 2 years plans) of production, capacity, manpower and potential finished good volume.Production order based on demand. Forecast (Production Volume Forecast) analysis and reportingAny other ad-hoc tasks by Senior Management (representative/owner of business unit)Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Etc)Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Supply network, Planning, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering with at least 7 years of experience in the relevant industry, background in process/manufacturing engineering or product/process development/Projects Management etc.Demonstrates proven track record of Manufacture management, Technical, Product and Process Expertise, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesProficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Certified/Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma Tools and PrinciplesOrganized and demonstrates good Leadership Management Skills Proven Management with similar managerial trade production experience in Multiple Project Management with strong planning, organization, and communication skills.Demonstrated success in a highly collaborative environment with excellent written and oral bilingually effective and good communications skills.Demonstrated experienced running manufacturing facilities in both prototype and series production programs with the ability to achieve high-level results within a challenging environment.Proven ability to reduce manufacturing unit cost and increase contribution to gross margins.Good level of liaison skills and ability to meet deadlines and targets.Good team-work skills actively involve colleagues across the business, builds the benefits of collaborative working.High sense of proactivity.Innovative thinker, ability to provides speedy solutions and hands on.
