This position will sit within the Group Investment Management team and reports to the Head of Group Investment Management (GIM).Why join us?Contribute to real-world projects with scale and impactRare opportunity to build deep expertise and a well-rounded investment skill set across the power & renewables, utilities and urban development sectorsWork on both platform-level and asset-level deals across diverse geographiesJoin a purpose-driven, high-performance team with a growth mindsetKey ResponsibilitiesTransaction Origination & ExecutionWith support from senior colleagues, take the lead on day-to-day execution of M&A transactions by project-managing the day-to-day activities and coordinating all parties involvedManage transaction workstreams: due diligence, transaction documentation, financial closeLead the development of in-house financial modelling and junior financial modelling resource and undertake valuation assignments for the group’s greenfield investments and brownfield platforms/assetsConduct research on industry landscape, competitor analyses, market trends; assessment of commercial viability, perform financial and credit analyses and valuation of companies/assets, including research on relevant market and transaction comparable; and identifying the key risks and potential mitigants in transactionPreparation and review of presentation and materials used for engaging internal and external stakeholdersCoordinate inputs across commercial, legal, ESG, technical, financial, tax, and treasury functions to ensure smooth approvals and executionProject Finance & Capital StructuringLead and drive the financing of the group’s greenfield and brownfield investments, in co-ordination with cross-functional and cross-border project teams, as well as external advisors and vendors where necessaryBuild, audit, and manage robust financial models for the above to support debt sizing, sculpting, covenant testing, distribution mechanics and upside/downside scenariosEnd-to-end project execution, including evaluation of project risks, bankability and returns, deal structuring, preparation of investment proposals for senior management approvals, due diligence, negotiation and documentation, and financial closeSupervise, mentor, and develop the competency of junior team members to strengthen the in-house project financing, deal structuring and financial modelling capabilitiesRequirementMinimum 6 to 8 years in infrastructure advisory / M&A / project finance or other roles (with strong modelling experience).Exposure to power or utilities infrastructure is a plusStrong and advanced Excel-based modelling skills (DCF, DSCR, equity IRR, debt waterfalls) with ability to build and audit complex models: VBA is a plusHighly analytical and detail-oriented, team-player, growth mindset, resourceful, strong communicator and negotiator, self-motivated and proactive, with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure and tight deadlines Our Culture at SembcorpAt Sembcorp, our culture is shaped by a strong set of shared behaviours that guide the way we work and uphold our commitment to driving the energy transition.We foster an institution-first mindset, where the success of Sembcorp takes precedence over individual interests.
