Performs root cause problem solving and analyzes major contributing factors impacting productivity.Directs and executes capital projects from inception through design, validation, and approval. Develops timelines, oversees activities for the entire project team and takes responsibility for project completion. At this level, the position has a greater degree of impact on the business results and typically, responsibility for managing a group of professionals.The successful candidate will be a member of the Implant Engineering Leadership Team. They will possess a strong strategic vision and a willingness to be hands-on in all aspects of manufacturing and supply chain engineering, as appropriate. ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the identification, planning and execution of projects involved with process improvement.Assembles and leads an engineering team utilizing in house and external resources.Manages and supports large-scale and/or complex projects that have significant impact on company and divisional goals. This includes working with internal clients, multifunctional teams and external vendors.Participates in the identification, planning and execution of projects involved with process improvement.Develops process excellence techniques to identify systematic issues. Tracks, trends, develops and implements equipment and/or process enhancements that will improve efficiency, product yield, and equipment reliability.Ensures that process and material quality objectives are met during project and are congruent with requirements.Establishes process and material quality targets. Measures performance against targets and provides remedial actions as necessary.QualificationsRequiredA minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or a related Discipline.A minimum of 8 years relevant work experienceA minimum of 4 years' experience in the Life Sciences industries (Medical Device, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical).Manufacturing and / or Engineering management experience in FDA or other regulated environments from design to productionExperience in conceptual manufacturing equipment/process development, design and implementation, planning and scheduling and project management of capital and improvement projectsExperience new product introduction and in managing cross functional teams.Program and project management qualifications and expertise working with multi-functional teams in an engineering/operational environment.Track record in business case development in a technical environment and associated record of significant improvements in industryMust demonstrate working knowledge of process development and validation, including design of experiments, statistical analysis, Equipment maintenanceDesirableAn advanced degree such as MBA, MSc/Ph.D. in Science, Engineering, or a related DisciplineExperience with managing a Maintenance function in a regulated industryAutomation experience for low to medium volume productionExperience working in a CNC manufacturing environmentJohnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
