Job Description
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Operational Leadership- Provide visionary leadership to a team of ±50 employees across auditing, technical, and client service functions.- Develop and execute operational strategies that align with business goals and client expectations.- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and process efficiency across all functions.Utility Expense Management- Oversee the review, validation, and resolution of municipal and utility invoices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and cost recovery.- Interpret and apply municipal bylaws and tariff structures to resolve disputes and optimize billing outcomes.- Lead the development and implementation of robust auditing methodologies to identify errors, discrepancies, and recovery opportunities.Technical Oversight- Maintain oversight of electricity and water metering infrastructure to support accurate consumption reporting and billing.- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure metering systems are compliant, calibrated, and integrated with operational workflows.Stakeholder Engagement- Act as senior liaison with clients, municipalities, and internal stakeholders to resolve escalations and foster long-term, trust-based relationships.- Represent the business unit in executive forums and municipal engagements.Financial Management- Report to EXCO on business unit performance, including profit and loss, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.People Development- Build team capability through coaching, mentoring, and structured performance management.- Foster a high-performance culture that supports employee growth and accountability.Required Experience- Minimum 10 years’ experience in utilities, property, finance, or related sectors.- Proven expertise in municipal bylaws, tariff structures, and regulatory compliance.- Strong technical understanding of electricity and water metering systems.- Demonstrated success in auditing, financial control, or complex invoice management.- Experience managing large teams (50+ employees) across diverse functions.- Track record of delivering measurable business value to clients.Skills & Competencies- Exceptional leadership and people-management skills.- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities.- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail.- Ability to balance strategic direction with operational execution.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field (beneficial).
