Work ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsCold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Laboratory Setting, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materialsJob DescriptionYour role as a Senior Manufacturing Scientist for development and improvement of protein downstream purification processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelops new protein downstream purification processes;Improves existing manufacturing processes with low reproducibility;Develops and implements scale-up of protein downstream purification;Plans and performs experiments;Performs biochemical and physicochemical analysis of proteins;Troubleshoots by analysing batch record and quality control data;Conducts stability studies of proteins;Develops analytical methods for characterization of proteins;Orders reagents and instruments needed for development activities;Manufacturing documentation creation and update;Investigates customer complaints;Is responsible for initiating and documenting process changes;Actively uses LEAN tools;Preparation and maintenance of equipment.RequirementsEducationDegree in bioengineering, biochemistry, biotechnology or similar life sciencesExperienceExperience in protein extraction and purificationKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesKnowledge of protein properties and analytical methods used in biotechnology;Knowledge of the principles of equipment management and maintenance;Knowledge of general principles of documentation;English and Lithuanian language skills;Diligence, attention to detail, responsibility, organization.We OfferHard-working, driven and supportive working culture and outstanding development possibilities to increase your potential;Personal and professional career opportunities in the field of high technology;The possibility to go to/from work by free bus, 70% compensated lunch in the company canteen, we serve coffee/tea;An incentive package of additional benefits (annual bonus for results, accident insurance, health insurance).At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 120,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
