Job Description

About GuavaGuava is building voice AI that actually works in production. Our agentic speech platform is engineered for the environments where voice is not optional — call centers, hospitals, financial services, automotive systems, robotics, and aerospace. Unlike brittle demos, Guava holds context, switches modalities, and persists until tasks are complete. We run on proprietary ASR, TTS, and language models built together from the ground up, not stitched together from third-party APIs.Our team is composed of world-class experts in speech technology from Stanford, MIT, and NASA. We have processed billions of minutes of voice annually, and our customers include BPOs, hospitals, and financial institutions with real compliance requirements. We are SOC II, PCI, and HITRUST ready. This is not a research project — it is production infrastructure, and we treat it that way.The OpportunityThis is Guava's first dedicated marketing hire, and it is a role for someone who genuinely wants to build something. You will not be joining a mature marketing organization with established playbooks and a team of specialists to delegate to. You will be the function. That means setting the strategy, writing the copy, owning the channels, running the campaigns, and iterating fast — all at once. The upside is real: you will have direct influence over how one of the most technically differentiated voice AI companies in the world presents itself to the market. You will work closely with the founding team, have meaningful equity, and leave fingerprints on everything. What You Will OwnAs Guava's sole marketer, your scope is intentionally broad. On any given week, you might be refining our positioning for a new vertical, writing a technical deep-dive for our developer audience, coordinating a customer case study, or analyzing what is and is not converting in our pipeline. Specifically, you will be responsible for:Brand & Positioning. You will own Guava's voice in the market — literally and figuratively. That means maintaining a sharp, consistent point of view across all channels, and ensuring our messaging reflects the genuine technical depth of what we have built. Guava's brand is confident, direct, and unimpressed by hype. Your job is to protect and amplify that.Content & Thought Leadership. You will create content that earns the attention of technical buyers — CTOs, VP Engineering, heads of operations — who have seen too many AI demos and are allergic to fluff. Blog posts, white papers, case studies, and LinkedIn content that actually says something.Demand Generation. You will design and run campaigns that move prospects through the funnel, from awareness to qualified pipeline. You will own the metrics, run the experiments, and report on what is working.Product Marketing. You will work directly with the product and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategy for new features and verticals, craft sales enablement materials, and ensure our positioning stays sharp as the product evolves.Web & Digital Presence. You will own goguava.ai and our presence across developer communities, social platforms, and industry channels. You will keep the site current, optimize for conversion, and build our organic presence over time. What We Are Looking ForWhat "Great" Looks Like:Experience4–7+ years in B2B marketing, ideally in developer tools, infrastructure, or AI/ML. You have shipped real campaigns and can point to outcomes, not just outputs.AI FluencyYou are an AI-native operator. You use AI tools daily — for writing, research, analysis, and workflow automation — and you are genuinely curious about what is next. You do not need to be an ML engineer, but you need to understand what Guava is building well enough to write about it credibly.Generalist RangeYou are comfortable moving between strategy and execution without losing altitude. You can write a positioning brief in the morning and update the website in the afternoon.Startup DispositionYou have worked in an early-stage environment before, or you have the self-awareness to know what it requires. You do not need a large team, a big budget, or a defined process to get moving.CommunicationYour writing is clear, precise, and free of jargon. You can translate deeply technical concepts into language that resonates with a business buyer — without dumbing it down. What This Is NotThis role is not right for someone who needs a large team, a mature brand, or a well-funded demand generation engine to be effective. It is also not right for someone who wants to specialize narrowly — in content, or paid, or social — and hand off everything else. Guava is at the stage where the person in this seat needs to be genuinely comfortable with ambiguity, comfortable being wrong and iterating quickly, and energized by the prospect of building something from scratch. Why GuavaGuava is solving a hard, real problem in a market that is moving fast. Voice AI has been "almost there" for years — Guava is the team that has actually shipped it at scale, in production, in regulated industries. The technical moat is real, the customer traction is real, and the market opportunity is large. You will join a founding team that is direct, technically rigorous, and deeply committed to building something that lasts. Compensation includes a competitive salary, meaningful equity, and benefits commensurate with your experience.BenefitsCompensation will be paid in the range of up to $150,000 - $180,000 + Bonus. Equity is included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, experience, and abilities. Also included:Full health benefitsEmployer 401(k) matchPaid parental leaveFlexible PTO policyHow to ApplyApply on LinkedIn and please tell us what you have built, what you are proud of, and why Guava is interesting to you. A portfolio or writing samples are welcome and encouraged.Guava is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
