About The RoleWe are seeking a driven Hardware Engineer with proven hands-on experience in designing complexrobotics mechanisms for real-world, high-DOF robotic systems, for example, Agile One. https://www.agile-robots.com/en/solutions/agile-one/.You will help maintain current products and robotic systems to ensure continuous operation, while also developing durable mechanisms for new prototypes and overseeing designs through production and testing.Success in this position requires a combination of technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving, and the ability to adapt and make sound decisions in fast-paced, uncertain environments.Your ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop complex robotic mechanisms, ensuring high precision, reliability, and manufacturability (drawing to part)Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly documentation for productionCollaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure seamless system integrationDevelop and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and quality control documentationPrototype, test, and iterate on mechanical designs to meet performance and durability requirementsTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development and production phases Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in robotics and mechanical designWork autonomously on open-ended, evolving tasksEssential SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks (3dx) for complex mechanism designStrong knowledge of mechanical design principles (kinematics, dynamics, material selection, and fatigue analysis)Experience with actuator selection (motors, linear actuators, torque/speed specs) Familiarity with sensor integration (force/torque sensors, encoders, IMUs)Expertise in gearboxes, linkages, and transmission systems for high-precision robot motion controlHands-on experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting)Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)Understanding of thermal management solutions for high-power density systemsAbility to perform tolerance stack-up analysis for multi-component assembliesBeneficial SkillsExperience in robotics, mechatronics, or automation industriesBackground in designing articulated systems with multi-DOF (degrees of freedom)Familiarity with lightweight and high-strength materials (carbon fiber, composites, aluminum alloys)Knowledge of dynamic sealing solutions for moving parts in harsh environmentsExperience in integration of electromechanical components (actuators, sensors, bearings, gears, etc) for optimal performance in robotsKnowledge of structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis to validate designsYour ProfileStrong problem-solving and analytical thinkingSelf-motivated with a passion for cutting-edge robotics technologyDetail-oriented with a focus on robust system designAdaptable to a fast-paced development cycleWhat we offerDynamic high-tech startup combined with financial soundness and world-class investorsChallenging tasks and projects for your professional growth, with an open-minded environment for creativity and personal developmentCoporate benefits program that covers health, sports, mobility, and language coursesGreat working environment in an interdisciplinary, international teamApply for this jobAbout UsAgile Robots SE is an international high-tech company based in Munich, Germany with a production site in Kaufbeuren and more than 2300 employees worldwide.
