This permanent, full-time role is available for immediate start Success in this role involves contributing and driving complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects across the full project lifecycle, delivering practical, accountable engineering solutions that meet client needs in mining and heavy industry. You will play a key role in helping Fraser-Lever remain the first choice for results-driven engineering by applying your technical expertise, collaborating effectively across disciplines, and driving outcomes that reflect our commitment to our clients.Required QualificationsBachelor of Mechanical Engineering.Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering across mining, industrial, or major plant projects.Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or eligibility for registration.Knowledge of mechanical design principles and Australian Standards.Proficiency in permissible stress techniques for mechanical structure analysis.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Current right to work in Australia (citizen or permanent resident).Key ResponsibilitiesKnowledge and Skill BaseApply first-principles mechanical engineering analysis to develop and verify designs for plant and equipmentUndertake Finite Element Analysis to evaluate stress, fatigue, and dynamic performance of mechanical equipment and steelworkConduct hydraulic and fluid dynamic calculations, including pump selection, pressure loss, and pipe network design for slurry, water, chemical, and fuel systemsApply and interpret Australian Standards and local regulationsMaintain up-to-date awareness of industry codes, state-based legislation, and registration requirementsEngineering Application AbilityLead and review engineering design deliverables across concept, feasibility, and detailed design stagesIntegrate constructability, maintainability, and operability principles in designs, consistent with Australian site practicesPrepare engineering specifications, scopes of work, and design reports aligned with Australian procurement and fabrication standardsCollaborate with structural, civil, electrical, and process engineers to deliver integrated, compliant, and buildable solutionsAssess integrity of fixed and mobile plant; develop rectification and upgrade strategies using evidence-based engineering assessmentPerform detailed mechanical design for mining infrastructure, industrial infrastructure, materials handling systems, processing plant sustaining capital projectsConduct inspections, and site data collection as required.Develop remedial work recommendations based on plant inspections.Document fluid systems such as slurry pumping and fuel dispensing.What we offerA competitive salary based on qualifications, skills, and experienceProfessional development through involvement in diverse projects that will challenge and expand your capabilities.
