Senior MS SQL Developer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior MS SQL Developer to join our team and play a key role in the design, development, performance tuning, and maintenance of complex SQL Server environments. This position requires in-depth expertise across multiple SQL Server versions (2008R2 to 2022), as well as strong troubleshooting, optimisation, and automation capabilities.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of large-scale enterprise environments, database performance tuning, and SQL development best practices, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and optimise advanced MS SQL Server solutions across 2008R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019, and 2022 instances.Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to database integrity, performance, blocking/deadlocking, security, and connectivity.Perform in-depth performance tuning and query optimisation using tools like SQL Profiler, SSMS, Performance Monitor, DMVs, and more.Manage and maintain large datasets (4TB+) across multi-disk arrays in high-availability environments.Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, indexes, and constraints.Implement and monitor indexing strategies, manage statistics, and perform integrity checks to maintain database health.Design and develop solutions using SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS for ETL, reporting, and analytics.Collaborate with multiple teams to support database deployment, release processes, and production troubleshooting.Develop and automate database maintenance scripts and support IT operations aligned with ITIL best practices.Work across large-scale enterprise network environments and adhere to structured deployment processes.Required Skills & Experience:10–15+ years of hands-on MS SQL Server development experience across multiple versions (2008R2 to 2022).Strong SQL coding and troubleshooting skills, with experience in automating routine tasks.Proven performance tuning and query optimisation expertise.Extensive knowledge of index design, statistics, and storage internals.Solid background in SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and integration with Active Directory.Experience with Windows Server OS, especially managing large databases on multi-disk arrays.Microsoft SQL Certification is mandatory.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Strong ability to multitask, prioritise, and work collaboratively with diverse technical teams.Experience in ITIL processes, enterprise deployments, and release management.Nice to Have:Experience in scripting with PowerShell or similar.Exposure to cloud-based SQL environments (e.g., Azure SQL).No work visa sponsorships available.
