London: The Lister Hospital ( Rotating between Lister Hospital, Chiswick Outpatients and 9 Elms Outpatients centre)Full time 37.5 hours per week Shift times ( Availability to work between opening hours of 7.30am-8pm, Flexibility required to meet department needs/various shift patterns ) Permanent contract We’re looking for a Senior Patient Access Officer to join our Patient Access team based in Lister Hospital ( Rotating between Lister Hospital, Chiswick Outpatients & 9 Elms) . As a Senior Patient Access Officer, you will assist the Patient Access Leader in the management and progressive development of a high quality and customer responsive services offered by the Patient Access Department.As a Senior PAO, you will be responsible for providing hands on supervision for the day-to-day operational aspects of all functions within the team, to effectively communicate with appropriate instruction and guidance to colleagues at all times to ensure that the service delivered is always of an exemplary standard and meets with the expectations.Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. Other’s may think this is just a role in the Patient Access team but to us, you’ll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.What You’ll DoEnsure that all administrative functions are carried out to the highest standardEnsure teams are equipped to carry out all tasks and ensure adequate supplies are maintainedTo ensure that all patients meet the HCA criteria to enable successful and full financial settlement, whether Sponsored or Self-funded.Seek assistance from Patient Access Manager (PAM)/Patient Access Leaders (PAL) with any complex queries.Manage patient waiting areas to ensure the Patient Access Service run smoothlySupport PAL to organise staffing to ensure no gaps in service (Rota management)Takes on supervisory tasks within their team as requiredAssist Patient Access Officers with more complex tasksDeputise for the PAL as required.What You’ll BringPrevious experience in a patient access or similar role is essentialPrevious supervisory experience in a similar role is essentialExcellent Numeracy and Communication skillsIT LiterateUnderstanding of basic medical terminologyWhy HCA UK?Originally founded over 50 years ago by Dr Thomas Frist, HCA has gone on to become one of the world’s leading healthcare providers.
