Synechron is looking for a senior PMO specialist with x8-10 years of experience in financial services to join a leading financial institution's Technology and Data division in Glasgow. This pivotal role involves establishing and maintaining robust project governance, supporting cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic technology and data initiatives. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to drive project excellence, provide expert guidance on best PMO practices, and enhance overall project delivery standards.Responsibilities:Provide strategic guidance and support to project managers and teams across various technology and data initiativesEstablish and maintain project governance processes, including project prioritisation, risk management, and quality assuranceMonitor project progress, track KPIs, and report on program health to senior leadership, highlighting risks and recommending mitigation strategiesFacilitate resource planning, capacity management, and financial tracking to optimise project deliveryDrive continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO to enhance efficiency, transparency, and effectivenessSupport change management activities, ensuring stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout project lifecyclesCoordinate and support the adoption of tools, templates, and best practices to standardise project deliveryEnsure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies relating to project managementExperience:8-10 years experience in a a PMO role within the financial services or a highly regulated industryStrong background in managing, supporting, and governing large-scale Technology and Data projectsProven expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, SAFe) and governance frameworksExceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levelsExperience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Power BI) and reporting dashboardsSolid understanding of data management, IT infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Cloud platforms, and digital transformation initiativesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering measurable improvementsDemonstrated leadership in fostering collaboration and driving high-performance teamsRelevant certifications (e.g., PMP, MSP, Agile/Scrum certifications) are highly desirableLong term contract (inside IR35) or FTE - Strong market rates - Glasgow office x3 days a weekSynechronSynechron Technologies draws on over 17 years of financial services IT consulting experience to provide expert systems integration expertise and technical development work in highly complex areas within financial services this making it one of the fastest-growing digital, business consulting, and technology firms around the world.Headquartered in New York and with 22 offices around the world, Synechron has limitless opportunities for our ambitious and innovative employees to contribute to our growth story.We are embracing the most cutting-edge innovations in areas like Blockchain, Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing as well as delivering end-to-end Consulting, Technology, and front-to-back application design capability that allows us to see a project through from start-to-finish as a trusted advisor and partner to our clients, this allowing our people to work on the most industry-leading initiatives that will shape the future of the financial services industry.
