Join us and be a part of our mission to drive sustainability through technology and talent at Tata Consultancy Services, APAC todayJob Title: Senior/Principal Enterprise Python Software EngineerLocation: AucklandAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior or Principal Python Software Engineer to architect, build, and maintain enterprise-grade Python applications. This role is ideal for someone passionate about designing robust, scalable systems and who thrives in a DevOps-driven environment. You will play a key role in both application development and the operational excellence required to deploy Python solutions at scale.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & DevelopmentArchitect, develop, and maintain high-quality Python applications (web, API, and backend services) for enterprise environments.Ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance through best practices, code reviews, and automated testing.Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to deliver business-critical features.DevOps & DeploymentLead the containerization of Python applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes (K8s).Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.Ensure applications are secure, reliable, and scalable in production environments.Tooling & ObservabilitySelect and integrate Python tooling and packages appropriate for enterprise use.Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement.Collaboration & LeadershipMentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.Contribute to architectural decisions and technology strategy.Document solutions and share knowledge across teams.(Bonus) AI/MLIf experienced, contribute to the design and deployment of AI/ML solutions using Python frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).Required Skills & Experience10+ years of professional experience building and deploying Python applications in enterprise environments.Deep expertise in Python (3.x), including web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django) and API design.Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for Python workloads.Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Helm).Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools in production environments.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and deploying Python applications at scale.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for building reliable systems.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Desirable (Bonus) SkillsExperience with AI/ML frameworks and deploying machine learning models in production.Knowledge of security best practices for enterprise Python applications.Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and microservices.
