Job DescriptionJob Overview:The Senior Principal Subcontracts Specialist is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Subcontracts Specialist is considered a specialist in the field of Subcontracts, and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Supply Chain function. The Senior Principal Subcontracts Specialist impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Subcontracts Specialist role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Subcontract challenges.ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Manages Steel Plant OEM Contractor in terms of contract management and contract administration;Work as part of an integrated cross-functional Site team;Address contractual and commercial risks and identifying and implementing mitigation measures;Ensure a flexibility approach whilst adhering to Project requirements and standards;Support the Project Site and Contract Management teams in the management of the OEM Contractor;Support of processing and enforcement of Change Requests, Change Orders and claims;Participation in the reviewing and examination of contract in support of contract negotiations;Coordination and alignment with other contract managers;Ensuring the uniform interpretation of contractual clauses and treatment of Change Requests, Change Orders, claims and implementation of lessons learned; Support of Project Site and Contract Management teams regarding contractual issues and correspondence (externally as well as internally);Interface with other departments such as Legal, Engineering, Finance, Technical, etc.;Provide support on contractual issues, risk and opportunities and assistance in the identification, capture, analysis, mitigation and tracking of project risks;Ensuring working in compliance with H2GS policies, procedures and systems (ACC, GEP and others).QualificationsEssential Qualifications and Education:Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Supply Chain Management (or a relevant discipline)10-16 years of relevant experienceAbility to accomplish established objectives within a diverse corporate environmentFamiliarity with engineering and construction practices related to contract development and administrationAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritiesAbility to communicate effectively in writing and orally in a business environment Effective problem solver Good decision maker Effective negotiator Proficient in the use of MS Office computer applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint About UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
