This role combines hands-on delivery with strategic category management, ensuring best value from suppliers while supporting the wider business with innovative sourcing solutions.Responsibilities: Senior Procurement Specialist – Strategic CategoriesLead sourcing initiatives across multiple indirect categories, running tenders, RFQs, and supplier evaluations. Main focus on CAPEX and Energy to start withYou will naturally bring solutions to procurement, planning and supply chain challenges and overcome barriers through exceptional stakeholder management and engagement skillsDevelop and implement procurement strategies to reduce cost, mitigate risk, and enhance supplier performanceManaging supplier relationships and driving savings projects, to supporting global initiatives and leading a high-performing teamCultivate strong connections with critical suppliers, evaluate their performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure service standards align with company goalsNegotiate and finalise commercial agreements, ensuring contracts are robustAnalyse local expenditures on services and reduce costs with preferred suppliersTracking and reporting progress/status/savings of projects to Global Procurement and FactoryManage supplier relationships, monitoring KPIs, identifying performance gaps, and driving service improvementsWork closely with internal stakeholders, challenging existing supply models and introducing new ideas to optimise spendExperience & Qualifications: Senior Procurement Specialist – Strategic CategoriesProven indirect procurement experience, ideally in a large or multi-site environmentStrong negotiation skills and the ability to drive commercial valueUnderstanding of contract law and supplier agreementsProven project management, ideally with capex and energy indirect, but happy with directs alsoStrong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skillsA strategic mindset with hands-on leadershipPassion for driving change and continuous improvementHighly organised, analytical, and capable of influencing at all levelsResilient, self-motivated, and confident, managing high-value categoriesA CIPS qualification (or currently studying) would be advantageousBenefits - Senior Procurement SpecialistAnnual Bonus (10% +)Excellent Pension25 days holiday + bank holidays +WFH policyStaff discountOngoing support and developmentFree lunch at our on-site canteenFriendly and supportive environment offering exceptional reward and recognitionFor more information on this role, please contact Mike Butler at mike.butler@omegaresource.co.uk or 0113 2123519Applicants with experience in Senior Buying, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, Relationship Management, Distribution Logistics, Logistics Management, Management of Third-party Logistics Providers, Supply Chain Planning, Vendor Negotiation, Contract Negotiation, Supply Management, Procurement, Category Management Expertise will also be suitable for this role.
