Senior Product Designer - Retention

You'll be empowered to demonstrate how exceptional design directly contributes to business success and customer empowerment, working at the intersection of user research and product development.At M-KOPA, design isn't an afterthought—it's central to our mission of creating transformative financial partnerships that often serve as customers' first entry point into formal financial services.In this role, you would be responsible for:Conducting user research and translating insights into compelling design solutions for cash loans, airtime, and health insurance productsCreating end-to-end design experiences using established design systems while ensuring visual cohesionDeveloping prototypes and iterating based on user testing and stakeholder feedbackCollaborating with Product Management and Tech teams to define UX strategy for your product areaImplementing and extending our design system to ensure consistency across multiple touchpointsConducting usability testing and incorporating feedback to optimize customer experiencesWorking directly with customers to understand their needs and validate design decisionsPartnering with engineering teams to ensure high-quality implementation of designsContributing to design metrics that demonstrate impact on business outcomesSince this role requires conducting user research in market, the ideal candidate for this role should either be based in or willing to relocate to either Kenya or Nigeria.Your application should demonstrate:5+ years experience in product design with a focus on customer-facing digital productsStrong UX/UI design skills with proven ability to create intuitive, user-centered designsExtensive experience conducting user research and translating findings into design decisionsProficiency in prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar) and creating interactive prototypesExperience working with and contributing to design systems from concept to implementationAbility to balance user needs with business goals and technical constraintsStrong collaboration skills working with cross-functional teamsExperience with end-to-end product design from research through implementationExcellent communication skills with ability to articulate design decisions to diverse stakeholdersExperience in fintech, financial services, or insurance products is highly desirableIf the above is of interest to you, please apply.Why M-KOPA?At M-KOPA, we empower our people to own their careers through diverse development programs, coaching partnerships, and on-the-job training.
