Senior Product Owner - Managerial responsibilities - Helsinki - AI - English SpeakingOur client is seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner to drive the creation of innovative AI-powered software products that align with our mission and deliver real value to users. This role sits at the crossroads of product strategy, data science, and engineering, taking full ownership of the product lifecycle, from initial vision through to successful delivery.
As a product leader, you’ll go beyond contributing, you’ll set the direction, champion a clear product vision grounded in user needs and data, and steer weekly prioritization and planning efforts. Collaborating closely with Data Science, Software Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams, you will ensure seamless coordination of roadmaps and execution, adapting plans as necessary to meet evolving goals. This role is key to maintaining focused and collaborative technical and product efforts that consistently achieve the desired results. You will oversee the product journey from discovery through delivery and communication, ensuring alignment between user requirements and technical constraints. You will be responsible for shaping and prioritizing the product roadmap, supporting Data Science and Software Engineering teams to perform at their best, and making product decisions based on insights from users and technical feasibility. In your first 3 months, you will: Get up to speed with our platform and industry domain. Ensure all product documentation such as user stories, tickets, and roadmaps are well-organized and actionable.
Take charge of weekly meetings, prepare materials for decision-making, and keep stakeholders up to date. Coordinate development efforts between Data Science and Engineering teams for key product features. Provide constructive feedback on design work and identify areas where additional user or technical insights are required. Share progress and updates clearly with the wider team through release notes, documentation, and internal communications. By 6 months, you will: Fully own one or more product areas, setting strategic direction, managing the roadmap, and driving measurable value for users and the business.
Plan and lead the development of complete product features, integrating data science workstreams into early stages of roadmap development. Adjust product initiatives based on data and feedback to ensure timelines and results align with goals. At 12 months, your impact will include: Shaping broader product strategy informed by user feedback, team insights, and market developmentsSupporting marketing and sales teams by clearly articulating the product roadmap, releases, and positioning to enhance external communicationsWhat They Value: They believe in ownership, transparency, and momentum.

5+ years as a Product Owner in a software or AI-focused environment, or less with a strong record of delivery. Entrepreneurial experience with SaaS is a plus.
Solid technical foundation experience in Software Engineering or Data Science is highly advantageousProven experience managing the entire product lifecycle from research and design through to release and post-launch supportStrong skills in product roadmapping, backlog prioritization, and feature definition, with proficiency in tools and documentation to support decisionsAbility to coordinate and synchronize efforts across Data Science, Engineering, and QA teams, reflecting this in planning and executionExperienced in core PO tasks such as creating and managing Jira tickets, crafting user stories, and providing actionable feedback on design tools (e. g.
