Senior Programme AnalystsWellington-based | Permanent, Full-time | Two roles availableHelp turn data and analysis into action for New Zealand.The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) supports the Prime Minister and Cabinet to make well-informed decisions and deliver results for New Zealanders. Within DPMC, the Delivery Unit plays a central role in assessing how effectively key Government priorities are being delivered, providing insights and advice that support better performance across the public sector.About The RoleAs a Senior Programme Analyst, you'll bring together evidence, analysis and judgement to help track and improve the delivery of Government priorities. You'll contribute to the reports and insights that go to the heart of decision-making — informing Ministers, senior leaders, and agencies on what's working, what's not, and where focus is needed.In this role you willAnalyse progress, risks, and delivery challenges for Government priorities and targets.Prepare concise and insightful reporting for senior decision-makers, including the Prime Minister and Cabinet.Work closely with policy and analytical colleagues across DPMC and government agencies to gather evidence and ensure a shared understanding of performance.Identify opportunities to improve how delivery performance is tracked, analysed, and communicated.About YouYou'll be an experienced analyst with strong policy awareness and the ability to draw meaningful insights from complex information. You will bring5+ years' experience in analytical, policy, or performance reporting roles, ideally within government.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and qualitative evidence.Excellent written communication and the ability to present insights clearly and persuasively to senior audiences.A collaborative, pragmatic approach and a focus on accuracy, quality, and impact.A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. public policy, economics, social science, or business) is preferred. These positions requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret national security clearance.You don't need to meet every requirement to be considered.
