The role involves driving electronics and embedded systems from concept to production while ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance ISO 13485, and successful product launches. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with contract manufacturers (CMs) to support design transfer, production builds, and troubleshooting.This critical, hands-on role in Product Development and Engineering is based in Torrance, CA, and is not a remote or hybrid position. Veterans welcome!BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead electronics and embedded system development across the full product lifecycle — from concept, architecture, and design through to testing, validation, and manufacturing transferCollaborating with Production, Marketing, and Sales for product requirements, releases, supports, and testingConduct design review including schematics and PCB layouts and FW for embedded systems, video/audio signal chains, and power subsystemsWork closely with contract manufacturers (CMs) daily to ensure product designs are implemented correctly and manufacturing aligns with specificationsValidate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analysesBe a key contributor to the preparation of successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and technical volume write upsSupport and drive root cause analysis and resolution for design, validation, and field issuesCreate and maintain documentation required for design history files (DHF)Job responsibilities within our organization are dynamic. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned by your supervisor or upper management.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or related field7+ years of experience in electronic hardware and embedded systems design. Knowledgeable in high-speed video/audio/data transmission, switching, and/or processing for products such as video analyzers, video scalers, video matrix switchers, video wall, etc. are highly desiredHands-on experience with schematics (Altium Designer or equivalent), and PCB layoutExperience with CPLD, FPGA, and Microprocessor programming and codingSolid understanding of signal integrity, analog/digital design, and debugging using lab instruments (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)Prior experience in ISO 13485 environment.
