Senior Project Engineer

Role Summary:NES Fircroft are seeking a Senior Project Engineer (SMP) to oversee the successful planning and safe delivery of projects within approved Capital Budget, working client side for our Tier 1 mining client in NSW. This role focuses on Ore Processing, CE Mining and Infrastructure projects.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) engineering efforts from project initiation to close-out.Ensure projects meet stakeholder requirements and adhere to scope, quality, schedule, and budget constraints.Collaborate with Project Supervision and Engineering teams to manage contractor compliance with safety and engineering standards.Conduct Project Assurance reviews including Design Reviews, Risk Assessments and integrate Safety in Design principles.Implement Value Engineering to provide cost-effective, safe solutions.Demonstrate strong safety leadership and ensure effective Critical Controls Management for High-Risk Tasks.Track and report project performance, manage Construction Verification, and handle change management processes.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, or related field).Over 10 years of senior project engineering experience in Resources or Heavy Industries.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project controls software (e.g., SAP, MS Project, Primavera).Key Skills:Advanced project management and contract management abilities.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.Ability to work independently and within a team.What We Offer:Opportunity to lead impactful projects in a dynamic environment.Very competitive day rateContract longevity
