Our Substation team is currently looking to add an Senior Project Engineer to our growing team, based in Vaughan, ON.Reporting to the Director, Technical Services, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for nurturing and strengthening relationships with internal teams and clients, serving as the primary technical point of contact for clients as needed. Responsibilities also include offering construction support, generating non-compliance reports when necessary, and promptly addressing inquiries from the construction team while ensuring the completion of project documentation. Additionally, the position entails identifying and suggesting solutions for issues and meticulously reviewing specifications, drawings, and test reports to uphold high-quality design standards.Duties And ResponsibilitiesWriting and planning project scope, proposals, estimates, change notices, budgets and similar documents Development of material and construction specifications Prepare estimates, procurement support, material take-offs, requisitions, design packages and technical evaluations Track reception of material and inventory Maintain and enhance relationships with internal groups and clientsProvide construction support, write non-compliances reports (when necessary), and responding to information requests from construction team and ensuring project documentation is completedFind, recommend, and provide solutions to problems Checking specifications, drawings and test reports to ensure high quality designRun the Quality Plan and ensure the validity of documents related to the quality and monitors themAct as liaison and technical resources for all construction personnel on the project Other duties as requested and assigned RequirementsB.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution Minimum 10 years of experience in technical positionRegistered Engineer or eligible for registration as an EIT with a Canadian engineering organization Ability to work in a team environment Excellent written and oral communication skills Able to travel and work on rotation Maintain a class 5 driver's license in good standing BenefitsWe offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.About Our BusinessValard Construction is Canada's premier utility contractor providing comprehensive EPC+ (engineering, procurement, construction) and maintenance services to utilities, independent power producers, mining, oil and gas industries and rural electric associations.
