Position type: Full time employeeObjectivesResponsibilities for the position of Senior Project Manager (SPM) include leading and/or assisting in the management of both internal and commercial projects. The SPM will report to the HVACON COO. The SPM will manage and work with the other members of the project team on the development and execution of projects. The SPM may be tasked in the development and execution of large‐scale projects including specifications, budgets, and schedules in a multi-cultural environment, comprised of both internal and external resources. The SPM should be capable of managing and coordinating resources as required for each projectResponsibilitiesSite surveysSurvey for purposes of quoting.Survey for the purpose of verifying “as‐built” condition.Inspections onsite to ensure quality adherence/assurance of work completed and timely production.Develop quotes and budgets for projects.Lead Projects varying in scope, from design specification requests to extensive dry dock refurbishments.Coordinate project activitiesOversee team activities and their initiatives.Produce schedules and coordinate logistics associated with the project.Ensure timeliness of delivery.Identify critical paths and key milestones.Coordinate and schedule work assignments of support staff consultants.Ensure all selected designs and specifications comply with the safety and environmental regulations established by the stakeholders and appropriate regulatory agency.Coordinate construction activities with all stakeholders.Evaluate contractor bids associated with the project. Advise in contract negotiations, pricing and change orders. Maintain close contact with contractors and vendors to resolve any possible challenges in a proactive manner.Ensure all selected specifications comply with the safety and environmental regulations established by the stakeholders and regulatory bodies.Generate reporting for executive management.Provide feedback related to enhancements and improvements to team members.Requirements: “Preferred Qualifications”Experience leading large project teams, marine experience preferredAt least 10 years of relevant experienceSuccessful track record in managing a large multicultural team with diverse skill setsAbility to make critical decisions regarding vessel construction/renovation pertaining to applicable regulations, timelines and financials.Proficiency in computer use, including the following software programs:MS Office Suite, pref. including MS Projects:Adobe AcrobatAdobe Create Design SuiteTravel as required to support assigned tasks (30% or more travel days per year)Ability to work in shipyard conditions and construction sitesAbility to travel for extended periods for construction and refurbishment projects exceeding 30‐60 daysStrong communication skills, problem resolution experienceIf you are interested in the position, or want to hear more, please forward your CV and application to job@hvaconmarine.com.
