Senior R&D Project Manager High Tech

Our client designs and manufactures advanced high-tech machinery that find their way to international clients across industries such as Aerospace, Semiconductor and Automotive.The challengeProject content ranges from system integration, technology development and module releases on system level. These can vary from relatively small, taking some months, to big taking up to 1,5 years. Next to running projects, you will also be responsible to conduct technical assessments as part of their quoting process for Non-Standard Customer Requests (NSR)He or she will be part of a hard-working multi-disciplinary team and responsible to initiate and lead projects from conception towards introduction on product level. The decisions made by you and your teams will have direct business impact. You have a lot of freedom in your job and will have collaboration within R&D, Business units, Operations, Service, finance Your main responsibilities include:Manage the development and delivery of modules and sub-systems. Integrate on system/product level.Support Project Execution Manager on portfolio strategy.Execute new system tree introduction projects.Implement detailed review processes and set clear expectations around the key deliverables of the project.Consistency to the Project Management Process and defined delivery schedules.Effectively manage the requirements with multi-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing, and field service.Contribute to the engineering budgeting process by providing financial/budgetary analysis for Non-Standard Requests.Manage the project scope within the agreed budget, timeline and quality.Your profile Typically requires a University Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field.Typically requires 10+ years of work experience, of which you have worked in similar low volume capital equipment industry.7+ years proven experience in systems or subsystems project management, with ambition to continue to grow as project manager.Proven track record to lead sophisticated engineering projects through a defined product management process.Ability to build consensus among key collaborators that may not be under your management control.Strong communication ability is required due to the multi-functional nature of this role. An ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences is helpful in this role.Ability to lead and assign specific duties and build a constructive and cooperative working relationship.Strong problem solving skills are preferred to secure timely issue resolution during the development of new technology.We seek candidates that take initiative, are self-steering, self-confident and conceptual problem solvers.
