In this role, you will assist the Team Manager in coordinating daily operations, mentoring staff, and leading onboarding. You’ll help build team capability, manage escalated issues, and step in as Acting Manager when required. A key part of your role will be maintaining quality assurance processes, and keeping procedural documentation up to date and compliant.You’ll also contribute to strategic projects, support the implementation of legislative reforms, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and leading by example in this area.To succeed in this role you’ll bring experience in regulatory administration or a similar environment and a keen willingness to learn. You will be a driver of a high performing team culture and bring proven leadership experience. Your commitment to quality will be outstanding as will your dedication to ongoing continuous improvement.QualificationsOo puumanawa me oo wheako | Your skills and experienceSelf-awareness that mindset is the foundation of performance and an ability to develop self and others in this regard.Demonstrated capability in providing coaching and mentoring to others.Team player with the ability to work effectively with others, and to provide leadership to others.The proven ability to ensure a customer and community lens is applied to the work you do for and in the team.Excellent communication skills.Ability to prioritise and effectively meet deadlines.Attention to detail and commitment to produce high quality work.Five+ years’ experience in administration.Three+ years’ experience leadership experience.Two+ years’ experience in a customer facing role.Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 skills.Experience with Hamilton City Council systems or the ability to learn new systems quickly.Understanding of Building Act 2004, Food Act 2014 and Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and how the team workload facilitates this legislation is preferred but not required.Understanding of how to read building plans and supporting documentation preferred but not required.You will hold or be working towards New Zealand Certificate in Building Regulatory Environment Level 4.Additional InformationHe aha te wariu o te utu kaimahi? | What’s the salary?
