Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)Location: Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaWe are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our Buyer Tribe. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and deploying high-performance, scalable microservices. You'll leverage your deep expertise in Node.js and modern cloud technologies to drive our platform forward while mentoring junior developers.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain robust, secure, and scalable microservices using Node.js.Lead and collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Champion software engineering best practices, including TDD, code reviews, and CI/CD.Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality standards.Design and optimize databases (SQL Server, MongoDB) and implement caching solutions (Redis).Build and enhance our DevOps capabilities using Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub.What We're Looking For (Essential Skills):10+ years of overall software development experience, with at least 5 years specializing in Node.js for microservices.Strong proficiency with the NestJS framework, TypeScript, and Cloud technologies (Azure preferred).Solid experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and building distributed systems.Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.Expertise in database design (SQL, MongoDB) and caching (Redis).A commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and high-quality, clean code.Bonus Points For:Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, Azure Service Bus).Knowledge of front-end frameworks like Next.js or Angular.Familiarity with AI development tools like GitHub Copilot.
