Job Description

The occupant of this position will be part of the Software Development Group in the Development & System Transition (D&ST) directorate. We deliver modern software solutions to the Queensland Police Service (QPS), State Emergency Service (SES), and Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ). Primarily design, code, review, test, correct and document complex system components from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.Define the technical criteria for product/component selection and contribute to decisions about tools, methods and approaches.Provide advice on business system solutions, products and services to internal and external stakeholders.Provide guidance on design and programming solutions associated with the development, maintenance and enhancement of complex high availability corporate systems and services.Maintain currency of skills and knowledge in the field of Microsoft C# and .NET Framework development and web service programming.Deliver timely client focused support of applications in a 24/7 operational environment.QualificationRole Requirements:A tertiary level qualification in Information Technology or Computer is highly desirableTechnical/ Operational/ Educational ExperienceDemonstrated use and skill with the following technologies:NET Framework/Core (C#)JavaMicrosoft Design Patterns (MVC, MVVM, Razor)Microsoft Visual Studio 2022Azure DevOps, TeamCity, DevOpsTesting Frameworks (MSTest, NUnit, Gherkin, SpecFlow)Entity Framework / Dapper / SQLMicrosoft Web Services technologiesStrong knowledge in all phases of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)Commitment to maintain currency with industry trends and technological advancementsOther Desirable ExperiencesKnowledge of developing within a Secure Software Development LifecycleDemonstrated experience in Cross Functional Agile teamsKnowledge of Java development technologiesKnowledge of Microsoft Web PlatformSFIA SkillsThe following technical criteria reflect relevant professional skills and competencies from the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) Framework relevant to this role:Level: 4Skill Code(s)PROG: Programming/software developmentFurther information can be found on the SFIA site by searching for the ‘skill' code (e.g. ITMG) and then referring to the skills listed under the applicable ‘level' e.g. level 5 Applications to remain current for 12 months.
