Primary DetailsTime Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeThe purpose of this role is design, code, test, correct, and document complex programs and scripts based on agreed specifications and standards, in collaboration with software engineers to develop and integrate software solutions, and enhance existing systems to improve operational applications.The opportunityPlay a key role in a high-impact transformation project within our Digital API squad in this 6 month fixed term contract.Hybrid working model – enjoy the balance of 3 days in our Auckland office and flexibility to work from home.Flexible working options available – we’re open to discussing arrangements that suit your lifestyle and commitments.Collaborative, inclusive culture – work alongside passionate engineers and stakeholders who value innovation and continuous improvement.Be part of a global insurer with a strong local presence and a commitment to resilience, diversity, & wellbeing.Must have legal working rights in NZYour new roleSome aspects of the Senior Software role include:Manage the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.Strong problem-solving skills with a strong focus on the why and a passion for tackling complex technical challenges.Ensure customer impacts are assessed and addressed in the design and delivery of solutions.Proactively build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key stakeholders.Perform more complex development activities which may be beyond the competency or skill of a software engineer.Analyse business requirements, refine and implement solutions.Develop applications which includes coordination and collaboration with the BA/QA as well as the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) of the project owners.Supporting developers to grow technically and professionally.Please note that for the successful candidate, this process will include a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team, 2 interviews (either face to face or online via Teams) and background checks.About YouYou will be an experienced full stack software engineer with excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate yourself both with written technical & verbal.
