Senior Specialist – Finance & Accounting ( Located in Africa )

Role SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Specialist – Finance & Accounting for Avesoro Group’s African mine sites. The role spans daily cash & bank operations (payments, cash-flow tracking) through to month-end close processes (cost, inventory, and fixed asset accounting). High accuracy, strong process discipline, and timely reporting in a fast-paced, multicultural site environment are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesCash & Bank Operations: Record daily cash/bank movements; prepare bank instructions; manage e-banking; perform bank reconciliations.Payments: Prepare weekly/monthly payment plans; manage approval and instruction workflows; execute multi-currency payments.Cash Flow: Produce short-term cash position reports; update cash-flow statements; support Budget vs Actual (BvA) analyses.AP/AR: Perform vendor/customer reconciliations; track maturities and limits; control intercompany movements.Cost, Inventory & Fixed Assets: Analyze actual vs. budget; manage depreciation/amortization; post stock-count adjustments.ERP (SAP / MS Dynamics / Oracle / Logo): Enter all transactions with correct GL, cost center, and tax coding; run required reports.Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Production, Maintenance, and HR to ensure data integrity.Must-Have Qualifications (Mandatory)Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting/Finance, or a related field.4–6 years of corporate finance/accounting experience with strong month-end close and reconciliation skills.Hands-on experience in cash & bank, payment operations, multi-currency transactions, and core treasury practices.Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling) and ERP experience (SAP / MS Dynamics / Oracle / Logo).Fluent English (written and spoken).Ability to work in a rotation-based, multicultural site environment; strong communication and coordination skills.Preferred Qualifications (Advantageous)Big Four audit background or experience in multinational / multi-entity structures.Working proficiency in French.Experience in Liberia, Ghana, Morocco, and/or Mauritania, or familiarity with local practices (tax, banking).Sector experience in mining, energy, construction, or other heavy industrial environments.Reporting/automation skills with Power BI / Qlik / advanced Excel (Power Query, macros).
