Job no: 262-24 Category: Engineering 23 + Employee Benefits including:Flexible work arrangementsPaid parental leaveSalary packagingPurchased leavePrivate Health Care discountsWellbeing programs and discountsEducation assistance and personal career development Role This role undertakes maintenance and commissioning of primary, secondary, and communications equipment in the following: Power Stations – Generator Protection, Motor Protection, Line Differential, Transformer DifferentialUtility sector - Distribution, zone and sub-transmission substations and networks.Mining Sector – Surface and UG protection schemes together with general HV switchyard works Accountabilities Safely undertake work to the approved standards of quality, cost and time, ensuring safety remains the primary focus at all timesMaintain and Fault Find primary and secondary systems in line with Australian standardsContinually gain experience Maintaining, Fault Finding and Commissioning other primary and secondary systemsAssist with the completion of documents and other reporting systemsComply with safety and environmental systems and proceduresComply with business procedures and systemsLiaise and participate in on-site project planning with other relevant stakeholdersWork collaboratively with Engineering and Planning support teamsProvide on-site supervision and instruct other employees on task and safetyLead and coordinate project teams on-sitePerform other duties and responsibilities as required Skills Experience in taking responsibility for carrying out Maintenance and Fault Finding of Protection systems to customer networkConsistently demonstrated experience in taking responsibility for carrying out Commissioning of Protection systems with low impact to Customers, Infrastructure & SafetyCompetent in the use of Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to review and update electrical schematic and wiring diagramsTechnical skills including panel wiring, testing and maintenance of HV electrical and protection systemsCompetent skills with user programs for test and communications softwareAdvanced Protection Testing Skills in Generator ProtectionExperienced in Mining, Utilities, Commercial and Private network Protection TestingAbility to write Test Plans for different Protection Testing schemesAbility to use and drive various types of electrical test equipment e.g. Omicron and DobleAdvanced knowledge of operation, maintenance and development of the electrical supply systemProven experience in effectively communicating with others both verbally and in writing, including customersProven capability to work effectively within a team or work crewDemonstrated highly effective organisational and planning skillsDemonstrated ability to investigate and solve technical and practical problemsApplied experience in reading and interpreting schematic and wiring diagramsDemonstrated cognitive skills in relation to learning and understanding new skills and conceptsProven leadership skills Qualifications Qualifications in electrical engineering are not required but may provide additional skills and knowledge in execution of duties for this role Qualification in Protection Systems and studiesQualified Supervisors Certificate (Electrical) Think you know Ampcontrol?
