We are looking for a highly skilled UI Artist to join our talented and motivated UI team working on the Total War franchise at our studio in Sofia, Bulgaria. This is an excellent opportunity to hone and expand your art and design skills to a high level, working on one of the industry’s most interface rich games.The right candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent creative, technical, and visual skills. You will be working collaboratively with other Artists, Designers and Programmers. You will bring your creative abilities and passion to create intuitive, visually stunning and high-quality UI for the next project.Please note that applications for this role must include a portfolio/showreel (attached or as a link) and applications without such will not be considered.Mid and Senior UI Artists are all welcome to apply.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a UI Artist on the team, you will work with the Lead UI/UX Designer to help craft and implement UI and ensure artistic quality in our next title.On a day-to-day basis, you will:Design and create cohesive visuals and identity for UI screens and contentWork with UI/UX designers, game designers, and engineers to bring features to their polished potentialCommunicate the visual fidelity of a feature and help give the engineers all the support they need to bring that vision to lifeCreate content and implement assets using in-house toolsHelp maintain and craft a robust style guideKeep up to date and communicate the latest UI trends with the team. Provide workflow improvement suggestions to improve productivity. Work with outsource partners as required. Mentor and offer feedback to more junior members of the team. Have the ability to work independently and take ownership of one or more areas of development. EssentialKnowledge, Skill and ExperienceHighly developed art skills with a passion for creating art for gamesProven UI experience on at least one shipped title, or a very strong UI portfolioDemonstrate good use of typography, iconography, composition, colour theory and motion graphicsAbility to create as well as adapt to and follow a variety of artistic stylesExperience working from wireframe designs through to final implementationTechnical knowledge and a desire to learn in-house implementation toolsExpert knowledge of Adobe Creative SuiteAttention to detail for quality UI and be able to clearly communicate thisMust be a creative and practical problem solverA team player, able to take advice and feedback from their colleagues in a respectable mannerFluent in English, both written and spokenDesirablePractical experience of implementing interfaces using a game engineFamiliarity with 3D software packagesExperience with motion graphics or 2d animationInterest and experience with the Total War franchise or other games in the strategy genreAbout Creative AssemblyCreative Assembly crafts deep and detailed games that last, entertaining millions of players across the globe for decades.We are all game makers and we care deeply about the experiences we create.
