We work with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare systems to deliver measurable outcomes and improve digital experiences across the patient journey.Position OverviewSteer Health is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SEO Specialist to manage technical and content-related SEO tasks and play a key role in driving organic growth, improving local SEO (including Google Business Profile management), and ensuring compliance with healthcare industry standards. This role is critical in ensuring high visibility for healthcare clients across search engines by implementing SEO best practices before, during, and after website and landing page launches.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Launch & Post-Launch SEOPerform comprehensive SEO audits and implement SEO checklists for websites and landing pages prior to launchCollaborate with development and design teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated during site buildConduct technical SEO reviews (URL structure, meta tags, canonical tags, mobile-friendliness, site speed, schema markup, etc.) before and after deploymentMonitor and validate SEO performance post-launch to identify and address potential issuesKeyword Research & StrategyConduct in-depth SEO keyword research focused on healthcare-related services, specialties, and patient search behaviorBuild and maintain page-level keyword strategy for website pages and campaign-specific landing pagesIdentify long-tail and local keywords to target patient intent and improve local visibilityLocal SEO & Google Business Profile (GMB)Set up, verify, and optimize Google Business Profiles (GMB) for multiple healthcare locationsOptimize GMB listings with relevant categories, business descriptions, services, photos, and location-specific keywordsEnsure consistency across NAP (Name, Address, Phone) citations and third-party directoriesOngoing SEO Optimization & AuditsConduct regular SEO audits to evaluate site performance, identify technical issues, and recommend improvementsContinuously optimize on-page elements, including metadata, headers, internal linking, and structured data (schema) for healthcare servicesMonitor competitor SEO strategies and adjust client plans accordinglySupport content development with SEO guidelines, keyword usage, and healthcare-compliant messagingReporting & ToolsTrack and report on SEO performance using platforms such as Google Analytics, GA4, Looker Studio, and Google Search ConsoleCreate monthly reports detailing traffic growth, keyword rankings, GMB performance, and optimization impactUse tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Keyword Planner for research and auditsRequirementsQualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of delivering organic growthStrong understanding of both technical and content SEO practicesHands-on experience with tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Looker Studio, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming FrogExperience managing and optimizing Google Business Profiles for multi-location businessesFamiliarity with healthcare regulations (HIPAA compliance, YMYL content standards, etc.) is a strong plusExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, design, and web development teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience working with healthcare websites or medical practice SEOUnderstanding of E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) in healthcare content strategyFamiliarity with CMS platforms like WordPress, Webflow, or custom healthcare systems.
