Server & Storage Engineer (Computing - VMWare)

Job Description1. Server ManagementInstall, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers (physical and virtual).Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.Monitor server performance, capacity, and health.Perform regular system patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation.2. Storage AdministrationManage SAN/NAS environments and storage arrays from vendors such as Dell, HPE, NetApp, or EMC.Perform LUN provisioning, zoning, and replication configuration.Ensure optimal performance, redundancy, and scalability of storage systems.Monitor storage capacity and growth trends to plan upgrades.3. Backup and RecoveryConfigure and manage backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas).Perform regular backup testing and restore drills.Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans and documentation.4. Virtualization & Cloud IntegrationManage virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V).Integrate on-premise infrastructure with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).Optimize resource allocation across hybrid infrastructure.5. Security and ComplianceImplement and maintain security controls, access policies, and encryption standards.Conduct periodic system audits and ensure compliance with IT governance policies.6. Documentation and SupportMaintain accurate system documentation, configuration diagrams, and procedures.Provide Level 3 technical support for infrastructure incidents and escalations.Collaborate with Application and Network teams to ensure end-to-end system performance.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Server+, Dell EMC, HPE ASE) are highly desirable.Background Experience:3–5 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-level server and storage infrastructure.Proven experience with virtualization, backup, and DR systems.Technical Skills:Windows Server / Linux AdministrationVMware vSphere / Hyper-VSAN/NAS technologies (Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM, etc.)Backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, etc.)Scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automationFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS)Soft Skills:Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilitiesGood communication and documentation skillsAttention to detail and proactive problem-solvingAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
